The network already offers a range of activities and events. It is planned to expand this list over time.

SHARING IDEAS AND EXPERIENCES

NATIONAL ANNUAL CONFERENCES

Every year, members of the network of positive energy territories come together with other communities, regions and local stakeholders who are interested in this approach at a national conference on “Energy and rural areas, towards positive energy territories”.

The Communauté de communes du Mené (Community of towns and village of Mené) (Côtes-d’Armor) began the conference cycle on 15-16-17 June 2011. The Biovallée (Bio Valley) (Drôme) and Pays Sud Bourgogne (South Bourgogne Area) (with the region of Bourgogne and Ademe) took up the baton in 2012 and 2013 respectively.

The next conference will be held on 24 to 26 September 2014 in Mimizan. It is being organised by the communities of towns and villages of Mimizan and Haute Lande, in partnership with the Region of Aquitaine and ADEME and in collaboration with CLER.

MAILING LIST

A mailing list for the network of positive energy territories was established in 2011 by CLER. It is reserved for members of the network. It includes the elected representatives, directors and operations managers of the communities and areas involved, along with project owners and representatives of support structures at national level.

The aim of the mailing list is to publicise innovative initiatives, share experiences and practical advice, flag up obstacles and problems in the field, etc.

CLER moderates the list. In order to register, parties must belong to the network of positive energy territories.

WEBINARS

Virtual versions of “energy cafés”, webinars are workshops for sharing ideas and experiences via videoconferencing and via a chat function. Based around one or two short practical presentations (15 minutes), they are intended to illustrate or deepen reflection on specific experiences relating to a particular theme.

Webinars are reserved for members of the network of positive energy territories. In order to take part, interested parties must belong to the network of positive energy territories.

The first webinars will be held shortly (end of Q1 2014).

STATING POINTS OF VIEW

FORMULATING AND DISSEMINATING OPINIONS

The positive energy territories have set themselves the objective of creating a new energy landscape through their specific actions in this field. Their opinions help to better define the contours of this landscape from a more theoretical point of view.

DISTRIBUTION OF PRESS RELEASES

The positive energy territories are keen to use the press to publicise as widely as possible the innovative initiatives in their local areas. These want to highlight the results of the motivation and commitment of their communities and local stakeholders, but also make known the obstacles and difficulties they have encountered, with a view to entering into a constructive dialogue with relevant bodies in order to raise and resolve them.
